Treehouse Paintings, 2015-16
In her most recent works, artist Eveline Luppi employs the methodology of constructivism, which –
combined with her background as a colorist – has developed into a unique language characterized
by hard-edged line work, vibrant colors, and definitive structure.
The Treehouse works are a series of architectural geometric abstract paintings whose vibrant colors
welcome the viewer to explore. In revisiting the iconic, idealized treehouses of youth, the viewer
can wander through a maze of colored linework and imagine the innocence of children’s play and
laughter. The paintings take the viewer deeper as well, into the complexities of the present and
hopes of the future, and deliver them back again to the safe haven of the treehouse.
These paintings further Luppi’s personal explanation of abstract structures and invite the viewer to
share and contemplate her journey. Luppi’s work is timeless with a contemporary edge that
appeals to both the fine art collector and the appreciator of modern design.
